Our Mission

As a 501c (3), we foster the professional development of and provide educational support to administrators of volunteer services in health care organizations in order to (i) enhance their abilities to promote and contribute to the principles and practices of sound administration of volunteer services and (ii) facilitate improved volunteer participation in their respective organizations through networking and education.

NYSAVSA offers members professional and educational support, contact with professional leaders of healthcare and human service volunteers and a means to promote volunteerism in our communities.

The Board of Directors, with representatives from 3 regions and elected officers, meets quarterly to discuss business, including key issues and legislation relative to leaders of healthcare and human service volunteers, membership and professional development.

NYSAVSA presents an annual Professional Development Conference designed specifically for leaders of health care volunteers.

Message from the President

Hello NYSAVSA Member

As we enter 2017, the NYSAVSA Board of Directors asks for your continued membership in our association. The dues for 2017 are $30 and include:

2017 NYSAVSA Professional Development Conference

Wednesday, June 7th – Friday, June 9th , 2017
The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center – Albany NY
Cost: Registration for Members – $300/person
Hotel: $125 per night

  • New and Enhanced Website including DVS Toolkit & “Members Only” Exchange
  • Additional Educational Programs (to be announced)
  • Affiliation with other state and national groups

Membership Update

At the 2016 NYSAVSA Annual Meeting, the membership voted to accept a revised organizational structure. In doing so, the association has shifted from a chapter-originated membership model to a state-originated membership model.

Here is what this means:
If your chapter has maintained its affiliation with the State, your membership in NYSAVSA is automatic and dues are paid by your Chapter.
If you do not belong to a chapter, or your chapter is not a NYSAVSA affiliate you will need to renew your membership independently, either through your organization or personally.

The NYSAVSA Membership Fee is $30.
