Dear NYSAVSA Member,
We have elected to cancel the 2020 conference. We all are aware of the ever changing day to day course of the COVID 19 virus. In addition, the travel policy put in place by our many institutions are some of the factors that governed our decision to cancel the conference. Moving forward we will look to host a webinar or a networking conversational forum. Our sincere apologize for any all inconvenience caused.
I want to thank Kelly Morrone for agreeing to host us at Albany Medical Center. Thanks also to Mary Hagen and the Central/Midstate Chapter for agreeing to make the conference a great one in 2021.

Greetings NYSAVSA Member,

I trust that you’ve had a wonderful summer. As we ring in the fall season here are some things we are looking to do. This year is an election year so we are encouraging you to consider joining the Board of Directors. The nominating committee will be reaching out to you. Also, information on 2020 membership dues ($40.00) will be sent out shortly. Please encourage your colleagues who are eligible to join the Association. Share the membership information with them. NYSAVSA will continue to advocate, promote and support volunteer leadership in healthcare and human services.

We had a wonderful conference. We looked at your evaluations/ feedback and will work to improve on areas sited, as it will help with planning the 2020 conference. More details about the 2020 conference (Wednesday, June 3rd to Thursday, June 4th) to be held in Albany will be forth coming. In addition, we are looking for fundraising ideas and your assistance to fundraise for the sustainability of the association.

We acknowledged that we need to provide more educational opportunities to membership. We will work on providing these opportunities through webinars.

Lastly, we will be reaching out to you for information to be place on the website including but not limited to sharing best practice programs, spotlighting our members and learning more of what each region is doing in terms of professional development.

Your dedication and continued support of the profession and the Association is greatly appreciated.
